The Yoga of Wisdom and Devotion 100hr Advanced Training

Training led by Lorraine Taylor, guest voicework teachers Eliza Kenyon and Yasia Leiserach, guest womb yoga teacher, Uma Dinsmore~Tuli

This 100-hour Advanced Training is part of a series of depth-courses devoted to the continuing development for the qualified teacher or advanced practitioner.

‘The Yoga Of Devotion & Wisdom For Women’ explores authentic Tantra, Jnana, and Bhakti Yoga in detail.

This training unfolds from the dynamic still point between practice and presence, between experience and concept, between the sacred, and the beautifully irreverent.

With expert guidance and support, we will let go of striving and with gentleness and commitment, deepen into, and then go beyond, the forms of our practice. With concentration and sweet, wild abandon, we will release into the realms of the non~dual, offering our bodies, hearts and minds to the field of true yogic wisdom

This journey into the true Self will include:  asana, pranayama, meditation, voice~work, chanting, satsang, self enquiry, movement, sacred dance, rituals, fire, sharing circles and spending time on the rich and mystical lands of Avalon.

Our guest teachers have been chosen for their authenticity, aspiration and years of dedication to their practice. All of the women who are sharing on this training are radical yoginis who have spent over 25 years or more exploring their particular current in the broad river that is yoga.

Together, we will enter into a sacred pilgrimage, bringing the light of our intention and attention to both our humanity and our divinity. In the safety and compassion of our circle, that which holds you back can soften, leaving space for the aliveness of your soul to expand and express.

Through this journey, you will be infused with an experiential knowing of how to move more consciously in your yoga practice, of what yoga truly is, and ultimately, of who you truly are.

Movement Medicine Summer Long Dance

The Long Dance ceremony is a way to join in deep community to dance, sing and pray together for all our relations, for all of life. It happens in a large marquee at the edge of the Somerset Levels.
It’s an opportunity to spend some time remembering that our own personal wellbeing is connected to the wellbeing of the planet, and to dedicate our dance, our song, our prayer to all our relations, past, present and future. The deeper we dance, the more we directly experience the reality of the interconnected nature of all life. This recognition is not just a blissful experience. It’s a remembering of our responsibility to honour and protect the sanctity of life, each in our own way. This is a give-away ceremony and therefore, participants are required to raise a minimum of £300 for any project or projects they wish to dance for. There is no tuition fee and any monies left over at the end of the event will go entirely towards supporting charitable projects. In 2018 we raised over £80,000.

Let Freedom Ring

A time to gather in song, poetry, dance and prayer, to celebrate the life and gift of Martin Luther King, and the power and beauty of The Civil Rights Movement.

January the 15th is Martin Luther King's birthday and each year in North America around the date of his birth, many people gather in the name of justice and love, to honour this great soul and to keep alive the flame of his offering to the world.

This year, we in Totnes will do the same!

1.45pm We will meet in the church hall of St. Mary's church. The church hall is to the left side of the church, down a small alley between the houses ~ there is a small grey sign on the wall.

2pm Screening of the brilliant documentary 'Soundtrack to a Revolution'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvkJhtQfmMk

4-6pm We will dance, poet, sing and pray in the name of Faith, Courage, Love, Justice and Freedom.

You are welcome to join us for either or both the documentary screening and the song~poeting~dancing~praying part.

Your hosts will be Eliza Kenyon (of The Awakening Song) and Chris Paradox (Soul Poet).

This event is free! And.... we will be collecting donations for Bryan Stevenson's extraordinary work, 'The Equal Justice Initiative' https://eji.org/about-eji, and to cover costs.
Please either bring cash or message me for paypal/BACS details.

Young people and babes in arms (who are able to be quiet in times of contemplation and ritual) are welcome.

The documentary is a PG and is powerful, inspiring and at times very distressing. Please be in touch if you'd like to know any more to discern whether it would be a kind/useful experience for your child or not.

Young Women Are Medicine

  • Kufunda Learning Village (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

A month long immersion into the medicine of women. This is a programme where together we return to the grace, the power and the pride in what it means to be a woman today. Connected to the Women are Medicine retreat, this is a programme to make the most of the gifts and strengths of women in Zimbabwe today. Our core assumption is that women are not a 'problem to be solved', but a gift to be embraced, and so we navigate the territory of the many challenges facing young women today from a place of discovering and recovering the innate strength and capacity that resides in each one - to be able to return more equipped to face those challenges from a place of presence and confidence.
